Cameroonians who have been traveling to Dubai for short business and holiday trips,will need to look for new destinations,after the United Arab Emirates Announced Visa Ban for Cameroonians,Nigerians and 20 other nationalities.
“This is to inform you that we will not be posting 30 days visa applications for these nationalities effective today October, 18, 2022,” the notice read in part.
The notice which was sent to UAE’s trade partners including travel agents further read,
“Any applications from the above mentioned countries will be sent back or cancelled.
According to the United Arab Emirates Many people, especially Africans seeking to work in UAE, mostly in Dubai have in the past been using the 30 day visit visas as a scapegoat to stay in the country.
It is said that after applying and getting a visit visa, one then flies to the country as a visitor but uses this time to look for a job.
Greener pastures.
Given the recent unemployment rate in Cameroon,several Cameroonians have used the 30-day tourist visa to travel to Dubai for greener pastures.Fru Solange is a Cameroonian who has been in Dubai for over 5 years,she says she arrived there thanks to the 30-day tourist visa plan.

Just like Solange,there are several other Cameroonians who have traveled to Dubai in search of greener pastures.
35-year-old Nde Rex says he left Cameroon in 2013 due to lack of unemployment,but since he arrived the United Arab Emirates thanks to the 30-day tourist visa plan,he has been able to have a stable job.
“I work as a security guard here in Dubai.The pay package isnt bad at all”. He added.I used the tourist plan because it is easier and cheaper.”he stressed.
Countries affected by the visa ban include Ghana, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cameroon, Nigeria, Liberia, Burundi, Republic of Guinea, Gambia, Togo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Benin, Ivory Coast, Congo, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, Comoros. The Dominican Republic
