A man said to be a bike rider is currently behind bars at the Kondengui Central Prison after he kidnapped a form one student demanding a 2 million FRS CFA ransom for his release.
A commercial moto bike rider who hails from Bali in the North West Region of Cameroon is being detained at the Yaounde Central Prison for a kidnapping crime.
According to the mother of the 11-year-old F1 student at the LBA Bilingual School who lives in Mvan and also originates from the NWR, on the morning of Tuesday 11th October 2022 accompanying the children for school, one of the children saw the rider and told her mom “This our uncle has been carrying us to school” she said OK you people should take him then.
In the afternoon when the children closed from school, the bike rider waited for them at the school gate. He carried the 3 of them. On his way (Atangana Mballa), he stopped and notified the kids “my bike has a breakdown and can no longer carry all of you. Take this money the two of you should take another bike so that I carry your brother”, said the rider. He wrote his number and gave them telling them you people should always call me through this number so that I take you to school and they all agreed.
Once they arrived home, their mom asked them where their brother was, and the kids said he is on his way with the bike rider. After waiting for long, she received a phone call from a private number, allegedly the kidnapper. The individual in a scary voice demanded a sum of 2 million or her kid will be shot dead, she said.
“He called saying, Madame your son is in the hands of kidnappers. So, what I want from you if you want your child back alive is one bag of groundnuts (bullets) and 100 sticks (guns). If you don’t know where to have them, I have calculated it and it will cost you 2 million. So, send the money.
She replied telling him she has just 30,000 FCFA FRS,so the kidnapper promised to kill her son if she doesn’t provide the money.
Immediately,she went to the Commissariat in Mvan, and they directed her to Gendarmerie Legion.
As the men in uniform opened investigation, the man was the only person calling. They constantly threatened me on phone. She added.
“Madame you know that your husband is a uniform man and they’re our enemies. So that’s why I came for you. If you don’t abide to my demands, I will kill your son. “One of the kidnappers said.
She kept praying with her neighbours and some church members.
After sending him more than 500,000frs, he called her on the third day and said he was going to come drop her child at Ngoumou.
That same day, forces of law and order called her and said they have tracked where her child is and there is hope to rescue her boy.
Behold, when this young man was coming to drop the child,
he was arrested and is now gnashing his teeth rider at the Kondengui Central Prison.
