Regina Bih Mundi has been freed from Ambazonia Captivity. This is thanks to an operation successfully carried out by the Defense and Security Forces in collaboration with the Population.
Senator Regina Bih Mundi was kidnapped in the month of April, on her way for a weeding along with her driver in the North West Region by Armed Separatist Groups, demanding for ransom and the release of their detainees.
For close to a Month, she remained under captivity in Batibo. despite pleas from family members and Bishops the armed group denied her freedom and went ahead to insist she will be murdered if the government doesn’t take heed to their request.
On Sunday May 29, according to the communique signed from the Ministry of Defense, an operation was launched in Ashong, Batibo by defense and Security forces which finally led to her release.
Equally during the operation, a number of separatist fighters were neutralized, 3 others captured, 14 improvised explosive devices impounded, along side a pick-up vehicle and a car belonging to Senator Regina Bih Mundi.
Note that the communique stressed that the population sided with the military for her release, an indication that the people are tired of the endless killings, kidnapping for ransom by Ambazonia forces.
The military after the operation, reaffirmed their commitment to work with the population. This however falls in line with the theme of the may 20 celebration”Defence and Security forces at the service of the people, in preserving Social Peace and National Cohesion, a guarantee for an emerging Cameroon.“
