Inhabitant Plying the Bamenda Babadjou highway have for some time been decrying the deplorable nature of that road. Due to the poor state, circulation around that lane has been a huge problem for city dwellers who have been calling on the Government to put in place measures to ensure the road be repaired.
The Governor of the North West Region, Adolphe Lele L’Afrique concerned about the situation says work will soon resume. He was speaking on August 8th during the Governors Bi- Annual Conference.
Speaking to reporters he said everything is said for the ring road whose contract will soon be signed.
“I will like to thank the Minister of Public Works who has ordered the works on the stretch of road between Babadjou and Bamenda. Things are already set for the ring road whose contracts are soon to be signed. The order to start work between Matazem and Bamenda has been given to contractors by the Ministry of Public works.”
The Governors Bi-Annual Conference was chaired by the Minister of Territorial Administration Paul Atanga Nji who said the objective of the conference is seek ways on how to curb the rising prises of basic commodities, which has reduced purchasing power.
Security concerns affecting the different Regions, is equally a major concern so he urged the Governors present to ensure Defence and Security forces be proactive and vigilant.
