Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has banned his 48-year_old eldest son General Muhoozi from twitter, following some controverisial tweets about Kenya. Général Muhoozi threatened to capture the capital of neighboring Kenya, tweeted in support of the Tigray Rebels fighting Ethiopian Federal troops and said all Africans support Russia in its war in Ukraine.
« It wouldn’t take us, my army and me, two weeks to capture Nairobi »he tweeted.
These unfriendly words were not welcomed by Uganda’s President who banned his son from twitter.He however stressed that his son will be allowed to express himself on social media if he limits his comments to sports.
« He’s going to leave twitter.We have had this discussion. Twitter is not a problem.Talking about other Countries and Uganda’s politics is something he should not do and will not do, » The President added.Muhoozi Kainerugaba will still express himself on social media, as long as he limits his comments to sports and politics ». He added.
It is however worth noting that the President removed his son from his post as commander of the ground forces on october 4th, though his son however apologised.
