Nfon Mukete IV Paramount Ruler of the Bafaw people, has donated 5,2 hectares of land to Fecafoot for the construction of a stadium in Kumba, precisely in the green city. This was during a ceremony attended by some Fecafoot Officials and elites of the Locality.
This gesture to Nfon Mukete is to promote peace and social cohesion.
“Sports is a vital enabler of sustainable development, it is a compelling tool to promote peace, tolerance, and understanding, bringing people together across boundaries, cultures and religions. Its values such as teamwork, fairness, discipline and respect are understood all over the world and can be utilized in the advancement of solidarity and social cohesion, so this hectare of land will be used by Fecafoot to construct a stadium he added”.
The elites of locality present equally expressed their wish for the crisis to come to an end so they freely use the stadiums.
“It is true that sports bring about peace and social cohesion, we thank Nfon Mukete for this gesture, but we are insisting that the long-term crisis rocking the Anglophone Region come to an end so elites of the locality can freely use the stadium.
Note that the decision to construct stadia across the country was made Fecafoot Boss Samuel Eto’o, who insisted during a training seminar that they will begin with Bamenda and kousseri.
During the training seminar, he equally announced that a sum of 1.5 billion francs have been made available and another 7 billion francs will be made available for the construction of 8 more stadiums, in different localities.
