The volleyball lionesses are keeping the flag of the country high in Konya, they defeated Afghanistan in their first match by 3 goals to Zero (25-16, 25-7, 25-15).
This is however a good start for Cameroon though the men lost to Morocco, 2 sets to 3 (20-25, 26-24,25-18,22-25,12-15). They are however hopeful that they will secure a win during their next encounter on August 11 against Azerbaijan.
The Islamic Solidarity Games was launched on August 9th in Turkiye’s Konya Province in a rich and colorful style. The event brought has together some 4000 athletes from 56 countries, who will compete in 24 fields.
For the fifth games of Islamic solidarity, the Cameroonian delegation consists of 165 people, including 120 athletes and 45 supervisors, Cameroon will compete in 13 disciplines.
The games were first hosted by Saudi Arabia in 2005. Though Turkey has emerged champions in previous games as they have grabbed 305 medals in total including 95 golds, 101 silver and 109 bronze medals.
